HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

Overview
The tourism and hospitality industry in Tanzania is a cornerstone of the national economy, contributing significantly to employment, foreign exchange earnings, and cultural exchange, with the Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC) forecasting its share in GDP to reach 19.5% by 2025/26. The country boasts 16 National Parks, 28 Game Reserves, 44 Game Controlled Areas, one Conservation Area, and two Marine Parks, reflecting its vast and diverse natural heritage. Iconic attractions such as Mount Kilimanjaro, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Zanzibar’s pristine beaches, and numerous cultural and historical sites make Tanzania a premier destination for wildlife safaris, eco-tourism, beach vacations, and cultural exploration. The government continues to prioritize the sector through strategic policies, infrastructure investment, and global marketing initiatives aimed at boosting tourist arrivals and hospitality development. Ongoing efforts to enhance service standards, promote sustainability, and diversify tourism products are strengthening Tanzania’s global appeal and long-term growth prospects.
